Brow Tattooing Precare

We have put together some information, which is important for you to know before your Eyebrow Tattooing treatment!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
  • Deposits will be deducted from the final cost of your treatment. The remaining balance is due on the day of your appointment. 
  • This deposit is non refundable in all cases, yet can be transferred to another date if given a minimum of 5 days notice.
  • If you need to reschedule your appointment, your new time will be scheduled at the next available date (approx. 6 month wait).
  • A minimum of 5 days cancellation/rescheduling must be given. Failure to cancel in the time or requesting to reschedule more than once will forfeit the deposit (e.g. If your appointment is on a Thursday, to avoid us forfeiting your deposit, you would need to reschedule on/before the Saturday before)
  • Tattoo deposits cannot be redeemed on any other treatments. If you wish to give your deposit and appointment to a friend, this can be arranged.

 

At Madeline Kate Brow Boutique we offer various methods of brow tattooing to create your desired result. We have listed the different methods below, however the best method can be predicted on the day of your treatment during an in-depth consultation.

FEATHER-TOUCH BROW TATTOOING (MICROBLADING):

Feather-touch brow tattoo involves a metal hand-tool with a cluster of fine probes, which is used to implant semi-permanent pigment into the skin to create life-like hair strokes and natural-looking eyebrows.

COMBINATION BROW TATTOOING (MACHINE METHOD):

(also known as Shaded/Ombre’ Brows), involves a digital method tattoo machine and a hand tool method to implant pigment into the skin.

This technique utilises a hair stroke method in the centre of the eyebrows to create a “soft” centre and then utilises a machine method on the mid-brow and tails to create the appearance of a softly powdered brow.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

  • Initial appointment: 2.5 hours (including the consultation and numbing time).
  • Perfecting touch up: 1.15 hours.
    PLEASE ALLOW ENOUGH TIME AS THIS TREATMENT CAN’T BE RUSHED

WHAT IS THE COST OF FEATHER TOUCH BROWS?

  • Cost is $795 for your initial appointment and $100 for one perfecting touch-up treatment 6-12 weeks after your initial appointment.
  • Your $150 deposit will be deducted from your initial appointment on the day.
  • EFTPOS facilities are available.

WHAT CAN I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?- IMPORTANT TO READ!

  • Leave waxing and tinting for us leading up to your appointment. Please note: unlike a normal tattoo, we do NOT shave the hair off.
  • Discontinue active skincare 1-2 weeks before treatment (e.g. Vitamin A (retinol), chemical peels, prescribed skincare/serums etc.)
  • Inform us before your treatment if you are pregnant/breastfeeding or any medical conditions and allergies that may interfere with treatment.
  • Do not take aspirin, fish oil, niacin, vitamin E or Ibuprofen for 7 days prior to procedure (do not cease regular medications unless talking to your GP).
  • On the day of your appointment make sure you have eaten sensibly and are well hydrated.
  • No alcohol the day before or the day of your procedure.
  • Avoid caffeine on the morning of your procedure. 
  • Please arrive to your appointment how you would normally
    pencil/powder your eyebrows.
  • A minimum of 4 weeks prior your procedure you can not have any injectables, facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion or skin treatments.
  • Do not undertake any physical activity the morning of, or the day of your procedure.
  • If you are physical not well with a cold, infection or virus please let us know, as this is not suitable for any tattooing procedures, which can delay wound healing and slow down your immune response. 

WHAT DOES THE CONSULTATION INVOLVE?

A 30 minute consultation takes place before treatment. This covers the treatment in depth, your desired/recommended eyebrow shape, and pigment colour and aftercare instructions.

HOW DOES YOUR TECHNICIAN SELECT THE BEST BROW SHAPE AND PIGMENT COLOUR FOR ME?

Prior to treatment we will outline, measure and pencil on a brow shape and choose the most suitable pigment colour. We will take into consideration the most appropriate shape and colour to suit your specific facial features, natural brow line, skin tone, hair colour and your desired brow shape and colour.

IS THE TREATMENT UNCOMFORTABLE?

Topical anesthetic is applied before and during cosmetic tattooing procedures, however small amounts of discomfort are expected.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT?

  • Swelling and redness is minimal and usually subsides within 24 hours
  • Immediately after, the area will appear bolder in colour and sharply defined. This can take approx. 1-2 weeks for the colour to settle.
  • There may be visible peeling/flaking for approx. 1-2 weeks
  • The skin takes 4-8 weeks to heal at a cellular level and for
    the true pigment colour to settle
  • You may feel itching in the eyebrows. Do not scratch the
    area.
  • This will NOT prevent working or socializing.

WHAT AFTER-CARE IS REQUIRED AFTER MY TREATMENT?

  • You cannot submerge the area in pool/salt water for a minimum of 2 weeks, therefore it is NOT recommended to plan this treatment close to any holidays or swimming events.
  • Makeup can be worn around, but not over the area for a minimum of 2 weeks.
  • It is not recommended to use any tanning products near the area while it is healing
  • A special tattoo balm will be supplied to you on the day and applied to the area for 2 weeks. PLEASE NOTE: Bepanthen is NOT recommended!
  • Further aftercare instructions will be given to you at your appointment 

WHAT DOES THE TOUCH-UP TREATMENT INVOLVE?

Feather-Touch Brow Tattooing is a multi-step process. A touch-up appointment is scheduled 4-8 weeks after your initial appointment. Colour retention varies depending on the individual, skin type and client compliance of home care instructions.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED MY COSMETIC TATTOOING REDONE?

Feather-Touch Brow Tattooing results in a softer finish but requires slightly more re-touching than other cosmetic tattooing procedures. You may require a re-touch maintenance treatment approximately every 1-4 years to keep the pigment looking its best.

The longevity of colour in the skin cannot always be predicted. Some skins hold colour longer and stronger than others, while others fade leaving a light residue in the skin. Pigment may fade or change according to metabolism, lifestyle, skin type, medications, age, smoking, alcohol, sun exposure, and use of active skincare products such as Retin-A and Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s).

WILL I STILL NEED TO WAX AND TINT MY EYEBROWS?

Depending on your natural brow growth you may or may not need to continue getting your eyebrows waxed, however Feather-Touch Brow Tattooing does not affect the natural brow growth, the pigment is implanted into the skin. If your brow growth is naturally outside the shape that is created, brow waxing may still be necessary. In some cases, Feather-Touch Brow tattooing prevents the need for eyebrow tinting treatments, however in the case of a blonde or grey brow hair regular brow tinting may be desired.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO INFORM US:

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Planning to fall pregnant
  • If you are under the age of 18 years of age
  • Taking medication (of any kind)
  • Have any known medical conditions
  • Had a previous reaction to waxing/tinting treatments
  • Planning to have Cosmetic Surgery or injectables
  • Suffer from keloid scarring
  • Suffer from severe allergies
  • Any internal and/or external factors that you think may affect the procedure

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Due to safety reasons, children are NOT permitted in the treatment room at all times.
  • Due to the lack of space, distraction of others & the consultation being personal (between the client and technician), we do ask that friends & family stay in the reception area or browse down main street whilst the treatment is being performed. Thank you for your understanding with this.
  • You will be sent a confirmation text message prior to your appointment.
